HOW TO REQUEST A GOVERNMENT DOCUMENT FROM A PASSAIC COUNTY DEPARTMENT
The first step in requesting a document is to fill out the County Request Form. Once you have completed the entire form (please make sure to sign and date the third page), the next step is to send it to Benemina Sancivieri, in the Office of the County Counsel. Be sure to be as detailed in your request as possible. If you know what department holds your requested documents, be sure to indicate that on the request form. To assist you in determining the department, here is a complete list of all departments in the County of Passaic.
You can submit your request form by mail, facsimile, or in person.
WHAT TO DO IF YOUR REQUEST IS DENIED
You have the right under OPRA to appeal the custodian's denial of your request either to the Government Records Council (GRC) or the Superior Court. You can contact the GRC by clicking here
